Summary: Excellent location and staff, but serious issues with sewage smell! There is a short walking distance to to shops, the beach, restaurants, and the tram. The staff we interacted with were very friendly, especially the receptionists and the lady working in the breakfast room. The staff gladly held our luggage prior to check-in. Our room was cleaned daily, and we got fresh towels every day. We put out the "Please clean room" sign every day, as I had read that others experienced their rooms not being cleaned. However, the room itself was extremely small. There was barely enough floor space to open our luggage, making it quite difficult to unpack. The hotel has a serious issue with maintenance and a sewage smell. There was a sewer stench in the common areas and the breakfast room and our bathroom smelled sewage every morning. It was impossible to close the bathroom door, likely due to previous water damage/flooding. The toilet paper holder was broken. One day they covered some kind of a spill in the elevator with a towel instead of cleaning it properly and it left a moldy smell, very unprofessional for a 4-star hotel. I felt sorry for the breakfast lady doing her best with poor resources. Instead of a buffet, you get a basic tray with pastries, jam, and yogurt (cheese and ham should at least be included). Hot chocolate was even heated in a microwave rather than made by a proper machine. Unfortunately, the overall impression of the hotel was so poor that we will not be returning.
